This wonderfully creative pattern for a lace shawl
(or scarf) is knitted by picking up stitches of each
individual hexagon.
NO SEWING WHEN YOU FINISH, because you join
the hexagons as you knit them!
This is a very popular pattern, and the results are just
spectacular!
Yarn:
Jojoland Melody Superwash or Melody variegated
wool fingering weight yarn:
SHAWL (finished size 68 x 20 inches):
5 balls Melody Superwash or Melody , 1100 yds
SCARF (finished size 43 x 8 inches):
2 balls Melody Superwash or Melody, 440 yds
(NOTE: Jojoland recommends 3 balls, since the
scarf uses exactly two balls, with none left over.)
Needles: Double-point needles, US size 6 (4.0mm),
or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge: Each individual hexagon swirl is 4 inches at
the widest point.
